Pedro Torres (Brazil, 1982) focuses his artistic practice on issues related to the concepts of time, distance, memory, language and image, using a variety of media in the development of his works and research projects. The diagram below shows these concepts and the materials used in his work. He is interested in working with these elements-coordinates in a combined and subjective way, where aesthetics and concept are balanced. The image, understood broadly, is always present as a mechanism, tool and concept on which to structure and question certain axes, such as, for example, the relationship between the formation of memory and images, the image in relation to history (time, anachronism) and narrative (language) or the appropriate and decontextualised image. Scientific topics, theories and approaches are also very much present, as well as the need to explore different media and processes and to investigate in a methodological, intuitive and poetic way.
He has recently exhibited at Aragon Park II (Madrid), The Green Parrot (Barcelona), Casal Solleric (Palma de Mallorca), Centro Párraga* (Murcia), Casa Seat* / LOOP Barcelona 2020, Chiquita Room* (Barcelona), Errant.
